Serenity Among The Cornfields

Serenity Among The Cornfields

We've done a bit of driving through the Pennsylvania countryside over the last couple of weeks: first to Lancaster, then to New Wilmington. Time in the car gives us an opportunity to reconnect with one another, sharing our ideas, getting feedback, reflecting on the past, and looking ahead to the future. I treasure these moments of unhurried conversations with the landscape rolling by. It reminds me of how essential it is to pause and nurture the relationships that matter most to us.

There's something about the rhythm of the road that invites deeper conversation. Without the usual distractions of home or work, we find ourselves discussing not just the everyday logistics, but our hopes, concerns, and dreams. For families and friends, these shared journeys become a space where introspection happens naturally. We listen more carefully, offer perspectives without judgment, and gain insight into one another's evolving worldviews. It's in these unguarded moments that we often discover we're not alone in our struggles, and it renews our pursuit of equanimity.

Professionally, the practice of reflection and forward-thinking pays dividends. When we take time to step back—literally and figuratively—we gain clarity. Conversations with trusted people in our lives help us see blind spots, celebrate progress, and recommit to what truly matters. The serenity that comes from these periodic check-ins extends beyond the car ride; it carries into how we approach our work, our relationships, and our sense of purpose. This is why we started The Lost Rooster: to provide creative minds a space to fulfill that purpose, and an outlet for clients to become friends and partners. Let's enjoy the ride.
